Ovenia E. Rees was born April 22, 1922 in Granite, Oklahoma to James and Eunice Hogan. She died Friday January 6, 2012 at the age of 89 years old. She was a member of Southwest Church of Christ. Ovenia worked in the cotton fields growing up and loved to play sports. During her school years at Brinkman, Oklahoma Ovenia won many blue ribbons as an active member in the 4H Club. She later graduated from Brinkman High School. During World War II Ovenia was paid to play basketball and baseball on a Factory Team where she worked. Ovenia loved to sing and sang on the radio with her sisters. They were know as the Hogan Sisters. While her children were growing up, Ovenia was very active with her daughter in Girl Scouts and with her son in Cub Scouts. She loved to watch her son play sports. Ovenia later became very active with the Women's Republican Party. Ovenia retired from Tinker Air Force Base were she was a purchasing agent. She purchased parts for the B-52 Bombers. After retirement Ovenia and Calvin loved to travel all over. They loved to take their grandchildren on trips with them every year.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Calvin D. Rees,Sr.; and daughter, Rosalind Rees. Survived by her son, Calvin D. Rees, Jr.; sister, Bea Lay; brother-in-law, William Rees; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
