Tad Wesley Jones, son of Harry Albert and Samantha Louise Burns Jones, was born March 6, 1925, at the family farm near Stockton, Missouri. He departed this life Tuesday January 3rd, 2012, at the St. Louis Veteran's Home at the age of 86.

On December 20, 1947, Tad began a sixty-four year hand-in-hand walk with the love of his life Frances Jean Robison.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Audrey Robison, his brother Harry "Rex" Jones, and infant daughter, Linda Jean.

Tad is survived by his wife; Frances, two daughters; Cynthia Jones Stinson (Lewis), Sherry Jones McCluskey (Robert), six grandchildren; Tara Holbrook (Randall), April Rush (Clay), Jennifer McCluskey, Lindsay Greeno (Mitch), Linda Petelik (Steve), and Brett Stinson (Karen), 12 great grandchildren; Mason Wesley Holbrook, Ella Rose Greeno, Lincoln Lewis Stinson, Brenna Louise Rush, Karley Lynn Rush, Troy William Holbrook, Reagan Terese Stinson, Christopher Franklin Holbrook, Taylor Ann Holbrook, Nick Hessel, Heather Potter, and Amanda Stinson. Three brothers, Clinton Abner Jones of Eldorado Springs, Missouri, Sidney Sheldon Jones of Stockton, Missouri, and Jackie Darrell Jones of Stockton, Missouri; along with numerous nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.

Tad was born and raised in Cedar County, Missouri. On June 16, 1943, at the age of eighteen, Tad began his service with the United States Navy. Tad went to boot camp in Farragut, Idaho an inland Naval base before being sent to San Diego, California for training in sonar operation and maintenance. Following his sonar training Tad was stationed at the Naval Repair Base in the Aberdeen Islands until being honorably discharged on February 22nd, 1946 at the end of WWII.

Tad returned to Stockton following his service in the Navy, where he met and married Frances Robison. In the fall of 1951 Tad took his young family, Frances and ten-month old Cindy to Chicago. He was employed as a TV serviceman. Tad and Frances then chose to raise their daughters Cindy and Sherry in Itasca. Tad also began his twenty plus year career as a maintenance electrician with Navistar. As a child Tad professed his faith in Christ and was baptized. In Itasca he was an active member of Bethany United Methodist Church.

Tad loved taking pictures of his family, his pristinely manicured lawn and garden, and on his adventures near and abroad. He and Frances were blessed with opportunities to travel to Egypt, China, Israel, France, England, Germany, Italy, and Ecuador. Upon retirement they made their home in Florissant, MO and enjoyed wintering in Mesa, Arizona in their 5th wheel RV.

Tad enjoyed the seniors group at Florissant Christian Church of Florissant, especially the day trips and luncheons. He loved spending time with his family and playing tricks on his great-grandchildren.

Tad was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and accomplishments and will forever treasure the memories he made with his family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or to the children's ministry at First Christian Church of Florissant.

Services Saturday January 7, 2012 in the Stockton Christian Church at 1:00 PM. Burial in Omer Cemetery with full military honors.
