Glynn E Clark was the sixth and last child born to Eddie C Clark and Eunice Wade Clark. He was born in the small town of Barnhardt, Missouri where his father was the blacksmith. He was educated in public schools and attended Washington University, St. Louis where he obtained degrees beginning in 1934 with one in Liberal Arts, and later Graduate Arts and Sciences in 35 and 57. While a student in the 30s, he excelled in football and track. He began his career in Education as a teacher and coach at Normandy High School in St. Louis, and later St. Louis Public School District and held various positions including teacher and counselor at Southwest High School, principal at Soldan High School and director of guidance for the district.In 1939, he married Carolyn I Humboldt. He served in the Marines and served during WW II, and returned to active duty during the Korean War, and retired from the reserves as a lieutenant colonel in 1965. In 1957, he completed his Doctorate Degree. He was president of Harris Teachers College, now Harris-Stowe State College, and in 1963 was President of Missouri Community College Association. In 1964, St Louis Community College at Meramec opened, and he was named president, an office he held until he retired in 1981. In 1993, he was inducted into Washington University Sports Hall of Fame for 1933 in football & track. He passed away as a result of a heart ailment Jan. 9, 2001.
