Fern was born January 22, 1931 in McLain, OK to William and Mary Dike Henderson, the 6th of 6 children. She grew up in the McLain-Elm Grove area and went to school at Oktaha. She married Roy Lyndle Beaver on her 16th birthday and they were married 56 years until his death in February 2003. Fern worked for many years at H.B. Egan and rose to the position of shipping supervisor until her health forced early retirement. After retirement, Fern enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and traveling to Phoenix to see her grandson James. She would sit with a map and try to plan a different route each time and could tell you every scenic highway between here and Phoenix. Fern also enjoyed going to bluegrass festivals, genealogy, and reading cookbooks. During the summer her kitchen was full of vegetables ready to be canned. Fern truly loved the Lord and was a faithful member of For His Glory Church until her health failed. She is survived by her daughters, Rosmari Bookout and husband, Ike of Okay, Nancy Weeden and husband, Bob of Ft. Gibson, Brenda Bebee and husband, Gene of Muskogee, sons, Roy Beaver Jr. and wife, Debbie of Phoenix, AZ, Ed Henderson and wife, Marie of Muskogee; her precious grandchildren, Jon Weeden and wife, Miriam, Jennifer Weeden, all of Copperas Cove, TX, Joseph Weeden of Ft. Gibson, James Beaver and wife, Nicky of Phoenix AZ, Shelly Chitwood and husband, Mark of Muskogee, Gene Bebee and wife, Melody of Joplin, MO, Toni Jo Baird and husband, Chad of Pennsylvania; great grandchildren, Kris Weeden, Molly Weeden of Copperas Cove, TX; sister, Ara Soter and husband, Bob of Rocky Mount, MO; brother, Oscar Henderson of Vale, OR; and her most beloved companion of almost 9 years, Candy Lou. Those who have gone on before Fern are her parents, W.C. and Mary Henderson; brothers, Hillary, Wilburn (Shorty) and Nathaniel Henderson; and the love of her life, her husband, Roy Beaver who was waiting for her as she crossed over into her Heavenly home. Funeral service will be held Jan. 13, 2012 at 2 pm at Cornerstone Funeral Home Chapel in Muskogee, OK.
