My wonderful Aunt Dorothy's life started out very hard. Her older brother died at the age of 5, and her Dad died just a few years later.
Still, she persevered and when she grew up raised a dazzling, accomplished family.
She also, unique to all of us as far as I know, was an accomplished and well-known watercolor artist. She even painted all of us individual Christmas cards when she could have sold them instead. I posted one here.

She had a high, sweet laugh, and of all the children sounded most like her mother.
I miss you Aunt Dorothy. I wish I could take away all you suffering but I can't. But The Lord does.
