She married John Opp on October 13, 1913. Together they had five children: Anna Barbara who died in infancy; Lena Plunket (Eanos); John, Donald and Gerald (Nora). All are deceased as of 1982.
Katie had 8 brothers and sisters: John, Solon, Jasper, Jesse, Edward, Pearl, Raymond and Hazel.
Burial services were held for Katie at the Christian Church in Weeping Water, Nebraska on November 7, 1977. The Rev. Richard Markland officiating. Interment at Oakwood Cemetery, Weeping Water, Cass, Nebraska.
