Bernice Rita Winnike, 85, of West Point died at 12:16 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 7, 2012, at West Point Care Center.

Born Aug. 12, 1926, in West Point, she was the daughter of Bernard Joseph and Adele Cecelia Mudd Fullenkamp. On July 9, 1946, she married Robert H. Winnike in Iowa City. He died Dec. 8, 2010.

Mrs. Winnike worked at Sheaffer Pen Co. as a homemaker and also as a secretary at Marquette High School. She also was well-known for her beautiful wedding cakes made for many young people.

She was a member of St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church in West Point, the Daughters of Isabella and the Altar and Rosary Society of St. Mary's. She loved making delicious meals for her kids and grandkids.

Survivors include two daughters, Vicky Potter of Mount Pleasant and Bette Burke of Donnellson; four sons, Jack Winnike of Cedar Rapids, Bob Winnike, Bill Winnike and Mike Winnike, all of West Point; 13 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Ann Bendlage of West Point and Iola Neuweg of Fort Madison; one brother, Gene Winnike of Fort Madison; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one son, one grandson and four brothers.

Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in West Point.
