"DEATH OF PARC B.MORLAIS HUGHES - In his residence, 380, Fairfield Ave., Chicago, on the 23rd prehistoric, the Rev. Benjamin Morlais Hughes, of the pneumonis, died after pymthegnos of hard affliction. He had had a heavy rash of weeks earlier, and had weakened much before the deadly clash struck him. Born in Dowlais, April 19,1845, he was accepted as a church member in Bethania, Dowlais, May 28,1859. He was ordained minister at Pentraeth Mon, May 21,1872. He emigrated from Wales to America in December 1875. He ministered for many years in Pennsylvania and Bevier, Mo. He moved to Chicago in 1896. He left a widow and three young children to mourn after him. The widow was kind to the kindness and sensitivity of the Welshmen who ministered to them in their adversity. The constant protection of God and keeping her and the little ones from every step. He was buried in Forest Home. The funeral was administered by the Rev. Griffith Roberts, Big Rock (A), William Ashford (M.E.), And the secretary. - J.C. Jones in the "Mirror." "

Benjamin was twice married,1st to a widow,Hannah (Evans) Hapgood in Macon County, Missouri on 2nd October 1879, they were later divorced in San Francisco ,California on 20 August 1885. His 2nd wife was Margaret Jane Phillips,they were married on 30 July 1889 at Wilkes-Barre,Pennsylvania.
