Lucinda Peak married Morris Atkins in Claiborne County about the year 1828; they settled after their marriage on a farm in Grainger County, Tennessee on the waters of Williams Creek, where they resided some four years. They then moved to Lee County, Virginia.

After living in Virginia for two years, they returned to Tennessee and settled in Claiborne County; after living in different places in Claiborne and Grainger Counties, in March, 1846, they emigrated to Missouri, and settled in Gasconade County, where Mo died of "consumption" (TB) a few months after arriving.

"Mo" was by trade a gunsmith, with which at different times, he associated his farming interests; after his death, Lucinda returned to Tennesse within the same year and never remarried, but spent the remainder of her days with her children, which included at least 6 (Joseph, Samuel, Scott, Lucinda, Mary, and Manerva).
