Funeral services for Adam Bruce Bitler, 831 Chestnut, who died Tuesday morning, will be Thursday afternoon at 9:30 o'clock at the Roberts-Blue Funeral home. Rev. O. E. Allison, pastor of the First Methodist church, will conduct the services. Burial will be in Memorial Lawn cemetery.
The casket will be open from 7 until 9 o'clock this evening at the Roberts-Blue Funeral home.
Mr. Bitler, the son of Mrs. Martha Bitler and the late Adam Bitler, was born August 6, 1877, in Olpe. He married Elizabeth Eunice Thomas on March 1, 1899, in Emporia. Mr. Bitler was a farmer and had been retired about four years. He was a member of the Odd Fellows lodge for 30 years, having joined the Interstate lodge No. 477, in 1909. The Odd Fellows lodge will have charge of services at the grave.
Mr. Bitler is survived by his wife; his mother, mrs. Martha Bitler, 1109 West Ninth; two daughters, Mrs. Hazel Holmes, of Hamilton, and Alice M. Bitler, of the home; a son, Roy T. Bitler, Route 3, three sisters, Mrs. Grace Saxon, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and Mrs.Mary Jones and Mrs. Zella Brady, both of Emporia; five brothers, J. Milton Bitler, of Salina; J. Roy Bitler, of Ponca City, Okla.; Ralph M. Bitler, of Denver, Colo.; Harry L. Bitler and Wallace D. Bitler, both of Emporia, and four granddaughters and one grandson.
