Anna Chrisine Beck Hugunin was born to Karoline Olesen Beck and Joseph S. Beck on July 27, 1911, in Greenville, Iowa where she attended school. She was an active member of the Congregational Church in Spencer.

She married Victor Hugunin on August 15, 1930 in Spencer. They spent their entire lives on a farm near Spencer. She and Victor had three daughters and she was very active in their lives as a 4-H leader and Girl Scouts leader. She was Township Cancer Chairman for several years and a leader in Township Farm Bureau work. Anna was Clay County's Homemaker of the year in 1961 and was recognized at the Rural Homemaker Day in Sioux City. She was well known for her many ribbons in canning fruits and vegetables at the Clay County Fair. Besides the canning she had an orchard she took care of for many years. Later in life, she delivered meals on wheels for several years.

Mrs. Hugunin is survived by her three daughters: Rebecca Noehren (William) of Arnolds Park, IA, Barbara Jensen (Robert) of Burbank, CA and Ina Belle Ferrendelli of Covina, CA; a sister Alma Spears of Spencer, IA and sister-in-law, Lucile Beck of Spencer, IA; also surviving are 11 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren. Preceding her were her husband, Victor and one granddaughter, Betsy; brother Joe Beck and sister, Naomi Schuller.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, January 8th at First Congregational Church in Spencer.
