LEXINGTON - Mrs. Katie Lee Gentle, 70, of Ridge Road left us Jan. 23, 2002, at Thomasville Medical Center after a brief illness.

She was born May 6, 1931, in Surry County to the late John and Molly Childress Hutchens.

Mrs. Gentle was retired from Dakota Cotton Mills and was a member of Lexington Pentecostal Holiness Church.

She was preceded in death by 13 siblings and an infant son, Albert Daniel Gentle. Surviving are her husband, the Rev. Albert Lee Gentle of the home; three sons, Jerry and Deborah Gentle, Ronnie and Kim Gentle, and David Gentle, all of Lexington; 12 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Goldie Hargrave and Eliza Hunter, all of East Bend.

Her funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the Yadkinville Pentecostal Holiness Church by the Rev. R.B. Leviner, the Rev. Harold Fletcher and the Rev. Cashet. She will lie in state 30 minutes prior to the service. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Gentry Family Funeral Service, Highway 601 N., Yadkinville.
