Roy Payne

Toccoa, GA - Roy Lee Payne, 63, of Route 1, Eastanollee Road, Eastanollee, husband of Jessie Lee Adams Payne, died Sunday at Stephens County Hospital.
Born in Franklin County, he was a son of the late Alvin Benson and Della Ayers Payne. He was a member of Toms Creek Baptist Church, a U. S. Army World War II veteran, a member of VFW Post No. 4346 and a retired employee of Coats and Clark.
Surviving are widow; sons, Dwight Payne of Monroeville, Ala., James Payne of Eastanollee; daughters, Mrs. Jim (Linda) Stephens of Stone Mountain, Mrs. Allen (Janis) Herron of Eastanollee; sisters, Mrs. Roy Lee Payne of Austell, Mrs. Ruby Cleghorn of Commerce, Mrs. Frank Davis of Loganville; six grandchildren.
Services at 4 p.m. Tuesday at Whitlock Mortuary Chapel by Clarence Davis and the Revs. V. A. Merck and Elton Lane. Burial in Stephens Memorial Gardens.
The body is at the mortuary, where the family will receive friends from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday. The family is at the home.
