2. 1900 US Census says Algea's parents were from North Carolina and that Algea was a farmer.
3. Sesquicentennial Commemorative History, Greentown, Indiana, pub 1998 gives a short history of Algie. "Algie Osborn was born in 1858. He and his wife, Mattie, had two children, Floyd E. and Leoline (Loda). Algie was a rural route mail carrier in Greentown. He carried the mail by horse and buggy. He also was a trombone player with the Greentown Band. He practices his trombone while delivering his mail. The farmers on his route often heard him coming as they worked in their fields. He lived to be 84 and his first wife, 45. Later he married Daisy Griffin. She had two boys, Verlin and Harold Griffin." (p. 130)
4. Headstone in Greenlawn Cemetery, Lindley Part, Greentown, Indiana. It reads: " OSBORN / Algie L. Osborn / 1858-1942 / Mattie E. Osborn / 1860-1905".
5. 1910 US Census for Daisy Osborn in Liberty Township, Howard, Indiana. Lists Algie Osborn (head) age 51, wife Daisy age 33, son Harold age 14 and son Verlan age 11, both step-sons to Algie.
5. 1920 US Census for Algie L. Osborn in Liberty Township, Howard County, Indiana. Lists Algie L. Osborn (head) age 61, and wife Betty B. age 43 born in Indiana.
6. 1930 US Census for Daisey Osborn in Greentown, Howard, Indiana. Lists Algie Osborn age 71 and wife Daisy Osborn age 53. Married for 20 years.
