Wm. P. Boustead, Village Treasurer Dies at Granville

Passes Away Monday at 75 Years; Funeral Held this Afternoon

William P. Boustead, 75 years of age on March 28, village treasurer of Granville, died at his home on West Main street Monday morning, April 6, 1936, after a serious illness of several weeks.

Mr. Boustead, who had long been a resident here, had been employed in the St. Paul mine in his younger days. He had formerly lived at Braidwood where on Dec. 27, 1888, he married Margaret Argyle. They were the parents of seven children, one, Ralph, dying in infancy.

Mrs. Boustead died Jan. 17, 1935 and the oldest son Edward, passed away July 23, 1935. Mr. Boustead is the fourth in the family in less than two years, a son-in-law, Rufus Grosenbach, having been accidentally killed by a truck in November of 1934.

The following children survive: Mrs. Ethel Albert of Pontiac; Mrs. Esther Munnis of near Lostant; William and Raymond of Detroit and Mrs. Margaret Grosenbach who lives at her father's home and is herself ill. Their are seven grandchildren, one of whom, Miss Myrtle Boustead, also lived with her grandfather. Mrs. Ralph Martin is a sister of the deceased.

Funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock this afternoon at the First Congregational church of which Mr. Boustead was a member. Interment will be in the Granville Cemetery.
