James Polk Wright

Dr. James Polk Wright, former Lowry City physician, died at Springfield, Missouri, at 9 o'clock a.m., Tuesday, February 14. Funeral services were held at the home of a son at Springfield at 4 o'clock Wednesday afternoon, and the remains are scheduled to arrive in Lowry City today, Thursday, and interment will be made in the Lowry City cemetery where Dr. Wright's wife is buried.
Dr. Wright was 78 years old. He was born near Frankfort, Ky., December 28, 1844. He received his education in the schools of Louisville, Ky., and obtained his degree in medicine at University of Kentucky. For a number of years he was a practicing physician in this city. Dr. Wright has been practicing medicine in Springfield for the past 28 years and has had offices at 318 1-2 College street.
He was a member of the First Baptist church at Springfield and had been an active church worker for a number of years. Surviving him are two sons, Dr. Walter E. Wright of Tulsa, Okla., and Claude F. Wright of Springfield, one daughter, Mrs. Francis Lee of Springfield.
