Margaret Virginia (Dague) Martin, 96, of Sidney passed away at 10 p.m. Wednesday (Jan. 4, 2012) at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana.
She was born on Dec. 1, 1915 in rural Newman to Ralph Andrew and Belva Boyer Dague. She married Roy E. Martin on July 11, 1936 in Newton. He preceded her in death on March 5, 1988. She was also preceded in death by four brothers, a sister and a step-great-grandchild.
Surviving are her children, Virgil (Amy) Martin of Urbana, Joan (Kirk) Beyers of Decatur, Ellen (Larry) Mettler of Godfrey, Ralph (Michelle) Martin of Broadlands, Peggy (David) Ropiequet of Mattoon, Jack (Mary Kay) Martin of Seymour, Wisconsin and Debbie (Larry) LeCrone of Sidney; 13 grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; eight step-great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; eight great-great-step-grandchildren; a sister, Joyce Chandler of Chrisman; a sister-in-law, Betty Martin of Newman and numerous nieces and nephews.
