Anna was the daughter of Ammon Meshach Tenney, Sr. and Anna Sariah Eagar. Anna was named "Anna Sariah Tenney, Jr.", as she was named after her mother. The family called her "Minnie."

Anna married:

(1) Prime Thornton Coleman Oct 21, 1893 in Springerville, Apache County, Arizona. They divorced.

They had four children together:

Shelley Coleman (1894 - 1943)
Benoni "Ben" Coleman (1896 - 1930)
Prime Thornton Coleman III (1899 - 1983)
A child who was born and died in 1901

(2) Pleasant Samuel Williams May 19, 1907 in a ceremony in Colonia Dublan, Mexico. They divorced.

After her divorce from Pleasant Williams, Anna went back to using the surname of "Coleman", from her first marriage, and was buried with that name.
