SWAN D. STONEHILL, 95, died at 6:48 p.m. Nov. 24, 1997, at Cridersville Nursing Home.

He was born Nov. 28, 1901, in New Stark to Wilson and Elnora Ream Stonehill. On Oct 6, 1923, he married Hariett Ewing, who died May 31, 1995.

Mr. Stonehill was retired and had worked as a road contractor with Union Asphalt Co. He attended Bluffton Church of Christ.

Survivors include two sons, Charles (Evelyn) Stonehill of Cridersville and Richard Kent (Emily) Stonehill of Lima; a daughter, Marcene (Don) Martz of Bluffton; eight grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by a son, James Stonehill; two brothers, Elmer and Howard Stonehill; and three sisters, Elfie Agin, Mildred Stonehill and Luella Hughes.

Services will begin at 11 a.m. Friday at Childes Sons-Laman Funeral Homes, Bluffton Chapel. The Rev. Doug Adams will officiate. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery.

Friends may call one hour before services Friday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to Southside Christian Church, Lima."
