Rick Dornhoff, 61, of Heartwell died Wednesday, Jan. 4, 2012, at his home near Heartwell, NE. Rick was born June 4, 1950, in Minden to Kenneth and Jacqueline (Hawes) Dornhoff.

On March 24, 1979, he married Goldie Dornhoff in Heartwell.

Survivors are: wife; daughters, Jennifer tenBensel and her husband, Joe, of Campbell and Carrie Ann Geiger and her husband, Will, of Cozad; son, Matthew Dornhoff and his wife, Ashley, of Norman; grandchildren, Georgiann and Jaxon tenBensel and Emalyn Geiger; his father, Kenneth Dornhoff and his wife, Betty, of Minden; brothers, Ron Dornhoff and John Dornhoff, both of Heartwell; sister, Julie Dornhoff of Johnson Lake; and a host of relatives and friends.

Rick grew up in the Heartwell area and graduated from Minden High School in 1968. He served in the U.S. Army National Guard from 1969 until 1975. He attended Kearney State College.

Rick and Goldie lived and farmed near Heartwell.

Rick enjoyed hunting, fishing and being at the cabin. Most of all, he loved following his children and grandchildren in their activities. He was a life-long member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Heartwell.

Rick was preceded in death by his mother and grandparents.

Burial was in the Holy Family Catholic Cemetery, Heartwell, NE.
