METCALF - Robert Newall Metcalf, 741 Page St., age 82, died Saturday, April 7, 1962, at Hurley Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, April 9, 1962, from Groves & Co. Memorial Chapel, Rev. Cedric Sears officiating. Burial in Mt. Hope Cemetery in Lapeer, Michigan. Mr. Metcalf will lie in state at Groves in Co. Memorial Chapel, Garland and Third Ave. Death was due to Complications following a 5 year illness. He was born in Columbiaville, Michigan, on July 22, 1879, the son of Robert and Palmyra Remington Metcalf and lived in Flint for the last 49 years coming from Columbiaville. Mr. Metcalf married Eva Ouinney in Columbiaville, Michigan on May 22, 1912. He was a member of North Baptist Church and was employed by Buick Motor Division for 35 years, retiring in 1945. Surviving are: wife, Mrs. Eva Metcalf; sister, Mrs. Walter Congdon of Mt. Morris, Michigan; four brothers, Norman Metcalf and Irving Metcalf both of Columbiaville, Michigan; Archie Metcalf of Imlay City, Michigan and Earl Metcalf of Yale, Michigan; several nieces and nephews.
