Stella H. Haney passed away on Tuesday, June 14, 2005 at home with her loving husband by her side.

She was born to Estella and Orval Chambers on July 8, 1931 in El Paso, Texas. She married William C. Haney on November 5, 1954 in Elko, Nevada.

Stella was an incredible cook and loved sharing all her favorite recipes with her family and friends especially those Mexican dishes that had been handed down from her mother. When anyone needed a recipe, they knew just who to call. She was well known for her huge cookbook collection.

Her other passion was her collection of plants and flowers which adorned her yard and home. She had a special gift to make anything grow. Stella had a love for life and loved sharing it with everyone she met. She was most proud of her family and all those times we spent together. Our family gatherings will not be the same without her contagious laugh. She will be deeply loved and missed by all!

Stella is survived by her dedicated and loving husband of fifty years; her sons, Bill (Shelly) and Troy (Julie); daughters Susan Martinez (Ray), Toni Crosman (Aaron), Carrie Romano (Mike), and Samantha Lott (Mike); devoted grandmother to twelve grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Jack and Caroline Chambers, Jacqueline and Herb Peterson, Judith and Eddie Thorne, Danny and Rory Chambers, and Jeanette and Danny Bain. She was preceded in death by her parents and grandson Troy Anthony Haney.

Graveside services will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 18, 2005 at Larkin Sunset Gardens (1950 East Dimple Dell Road (10600 Sotuh) in Sandy). Family and friends may share their condolences prior to the graveside services at 10:00 a.m. inside the mortuary.
