In May 1946, he married Annie V. Hensley, who preceded him in death on October 7, 2016. Mr. Hensley and his wife moved to Journeys Crossings in 2013 where they cared for and helped each other as they always have.
In addition to his parents and wife he is preceded in death by his stepmother, Florene Barry Hensley and his brother, Glen Hensley.
Mr. Hensley served in the Army in WWII. He was a craftsman in every sense, working many years building homes for Dean Lumber Co. and was also self-employed as a builder. In his retirement, he enjoyed fishing with Randy, George, Woody, and Gene, helping on Junior and Linda's farm, wood working, latch hook and basket weaving. He was an avid gardener, starting most of his plants in his greenhouse. He was a faithful servant at Evangelical United Methodist Church in Elkton, he was present and took part at the groundbreaking of Camp Overlook, the Methodist Church camp in Keezletown, serving as an usher at church and preparation of meals held at the church. Randolph enjoyed helping people and took pride in his ability to do so.
Randolph is survived by a son, Randolph M. Hensley, Jr. and wife, Gay of Hernando Beach, Fl.; a daughter, Linda H. Monger and husband, Melvin "Junior" of Elkton; grandchildren, Chris Monger and wife, Sharon, Pamela Monger-Storey and husband, Curtis, Heather Eyestone and husband, Bill and Heidi Feldvary and husband, Adam; great grandchildren, Ryan, Lacey and Jilliyn Monger, Marin and Arden Eyestone and Chase Feldvary; brother, Miller Hensley; sisters, Olga Downey of Fort Pierce, Fl. and Deborah Hensley Morris of Flowery Branch, Ga.; step sister, Cheryl Williams Dukes of Flowery Branch Ga. and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held for Mr. Hensley and his wife, Annie at 10am on Saturday, January 7, 2016 at Evangelical United Methodist Church in Elkton with Reverend David Vaughn and Pastor Dan Bassett officiating. Military Rites will be performed by Gooden Brothers V.F.W. Post 9292.
