SPRINGFIELD - John Enos Sprague, 82, of Springfield, died Dec. 8 of age-related causes. He was 82. Sprague was born Feb. 3, 1921, in Sutherlin to Charles and Louella Cain Sprague. He married Mary Carroll in Greenleaf on May 15, 1945. He settled in this area in 1977 and worked as a truck driver. He was a member of the Willamettans and he enjoyed woodworking, reading and traveling. Survivors include a son, William of Springfield; three daughters, Donna Grant of Blue River, Linda Metteer of Gervais and Paula Applegate of Springfield; brother, C. Ralph of Vancouver, WA; two sisters, Verna Kruger of Hood River and Elma Rust of Blachly; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Burial was at Springfield Memorial Gardens. Arrangements by Springfield Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home, Springfield, OR.
