Jack was a son of Louisa Frances Lula Metcalf Poore and James E. "Jim" Poore.

Henry “Jack” Poore was married 1st to Willie Chappell (1900-1954) in Calhoun County in 1923. Willie and Jack are listed on the 1930 and 1940 census records as living in Anniston, Calhoun County with their two sons, Hershell Henry and Clifford Lee. Willie Chappell’s obituary states that she is “survived by her husband Henry (Jack) Poore of Anniston, Rt 4; two sons, Hershell H. Poore of the U. S. Army, and Clifford Lee Poore of Ohatchee.” Jack then married 2nd Fannie Lee Camble sometime after 1954.
