Elvin Werth Johnson 91 of Rogersville was born on January 15, 1920 in the house of the dairy farm his parents John & Rosa Johnson had bought in December of 1899. Werth lived his entire life in the same house he was born in. Werth ran the family dairy till he retired in 1982. Werth passed away on Saturday December 24, 2011 at St. Johns hospital in Springfield. He was preceded in death by his parents John & Rosa two brothers Otto and Clarence Johnson and his daughter at birth on January 22, 1948. He was a member of the Mentor Baptist Church where he directed music, taught Sunday school was a deacon and served on other committees. Werth was head of the Holland Cemetery for over 50 years. He was a graduate of Rogersville High School in 1939 where he was class President. Surviving is his wife of over 69 years Mary Ruth "Dodson" Johnson of the home. Niece Carolyn Cochran of Springfield and nephew Gary Johnson of Renton, WA. And a host of friends. (47737189)
