Bernard G. Fleetwood
Bernard G. Fleetwood, 76, died Friday, Aug. 6, 1999, at Vencor in Greenwood. He was a resident of Indianapolis.
He was born Oct. 19, 1922, in Indianapolis. His parents were Fred and Ruth (McDaniel) Fleetwood. He married Naoma (Kersey) Fleetwood on Feb. 21, 1979, in Indianapolis. She survives. Other survivors include one son, Fred Fleet of Lafayette; one daughter, Janet Zimmerman of Fishers; one stepson, Jeff Cline of Indianapolis; one stepdaughter, Jana Covell of Thousand Oaks, Calif.; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and three stepgrandchildren. He was preceded in death by one son, Daniel Fleetwood.
He worked at General Motors Plant 2 as a supervisor in the transmission department for 24 years, retiring in 1980.
He was a member of Center United Methodist Church; Beech Grove Masonic Lodge 694 F&AM; and Royal Oak Country Club (formerly Eldorado Country Club), where he was also president for two years.
The Rev. Jeff Buck will conduct a service at 10 a.m. Monday at G.H. Herrmann Greenwood Funeral Home. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens in White River Township.
