ISLANDTON - Mr. Edward Proveaux, age 67, of 3811 Rum Gully Road, died Sunday, December 23, at a Charleston hospital.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m., Thursday, at Peniel Baptist Church with Rev. Tom McJunkin and Rev. Terry Hiers officiating. Directed by the BRICE W. HERNDON AND SONS FUNERAL HOME. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Mr. Proveaux was born in Colleton County and was a son of Charlie Clifton Proveaux and Ollie Mae Carson Proveaux.

He was a retired employee with Westinghouse in Hampton. He was a member of Peniel Baptist Church, where he was a former Deacon and former Brotherhood director.

He served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict.

Surviving are, his wife of 45 years, Ann High Proveaux; two sons, Micky Proveaux of Smoaks, and Arnold Proveaux of Walterboro; four daughters, Tina Lee of Islandton, Anita Proveaux of Walterboro, Donna Myers and Nichole P. Nichols, both of Smoaks; a brother, Charlie L. Proveaux of Spartanburg; ten grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and four step-great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m., Wednesday evening, at Brice W. Herndon and Sons Funeral Home.
