Mr. Wheeler Wyche Barber, age 97, of LaFayette, Alabama died Saturday October 5, 2013 at his home. He was Born in Chambers County on September 21, 1916 to Emma Wyche Barber And Henry Grady Barber, Sr. Funeral services will be held at the Sweet Home Methodist Church at 11 AM on Tuesday October 8, 2013 with burial at the Rock Springs Baptist Church Cemetery, with the Rev. Baxter Chislom officiating. He was a member of the Sweet Home Methodist Church of LaFayette. He was retired from King Ford in LaFayette as a truck & automobile mechanic. He also loved to garden, most of all he loved his children and his many many friends. He is survived by his son, Kenneth H. (Ann) Barber of Houston, TX; three daughters, Colleen Lyle of Birmingham, AL, Jean (Dewey)Thornton Of Birmingham, AL, and Deborah (David) Barber-Harris Of Dover, Ark. Eight grandchildren, and eight great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Louise Huckaby Barber; son, Donald Vinson Barber; Son in Law Kenneth Wayne Lyle; his parents; brother, Henry Grady Barber, Jr., and sister Mary Nelle McManus. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Monday October 7, 2013 from 5-7 PM.
