Dewitt Trammell Dies From Self Inflicted Wounds
Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon from the home for Mr. Dewitt Trammel who died Saturday night from self inflicted wounds. The Rev. W C Stewart, pastor of the Houston Baptist church officiated. Burial was in Prospect cemetery.
Mr. Trammell who as 43 years of age, had lived in Houston all his life. Until he suffered a stroke of paralysis a number of years ago, he worked on the highway.
Mr. Trammel was in the house alone Saturday night and was found soon after he had cut his throat by a darkie who was passing to whom he had called. Before aid could be summoned he had passed away. His family attributed his taking his life to ill health.
Besides his wife, he leaves a daughter, Miss Maynette Trammell, of Houston; a sister, Mrs. Oris Martin, Tutwiler; two brothers, Ira Trammell, of Houston, and Willie Lee Trammell, of Holly Bluff.
