Born September 19, 1932 in Kilgore, Texas, the son of Ruth Amelia Faulkner Silkwood and Ulmet Otto Silkwood, he was raised in Nederland, Texas until 1982, when he moved to Jasper and resided there until 2009, before moving to Jourdanton.
Jack was employed as a layout man with Burton Shipyard.
He is survived by his son, Anthony Silkwood of Pleasanton, Texas, daughters, Mary Kelly of Mesquite, Texas, Carol Silkwood of Port Arthur, Texas and Sandy Todd of Katy, Texas, five grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Jack is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Billy Silkwood.
His funeral will be 2pm Friday, January 6, 2012 at Broussard's, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland, Texas.
Burial to follow at Memory Gardens of Jefferson County in Nederland.
