Celestine Joy Waldron, age 77, of Coral, MI passed away December 16, 2011 in Collinsville, OK at the home of her son, Kirby Waldron. She is preceded in death by her son, Richard Allan Waldron and her daughter, Judy Carol Waldron along with her parents Elmer Lonnie & Biddie Ruth (Turbyfill) Mills, 3 brothers- Roger Mack Mills, Von Tiption Mills & Grey Roger 'Guy Kirby' Mills and 1 sister-Jewell Ann (Mills) Harris.

She was born in Greeneville, TN and was one of 10 children born to Elmer Lonnie & Biddie Ruth Mills. She was raised in the tri-state area of TN-NC-SC where she grew up being 'Southern'.

She was married for a short time frame to Robert Childers. After her divorce from Mr Childers, she married one Jay D Waldron and they moved to Coopersville, MI in 1961. She remained in Michigan after her marriage dissolved to Mr Waldron. She never remarried.

Known to her family as 'Cel' she was greatly loved by her siblings and by all of her many neices & nephews. Known to her friends as 'Jo' she was also admired & loved by them.

She, several of her siblings & her Mother-for a short time span had been residents at Norcross Boarding School in Norcross, NC. Her Mother, helped in the kitchen & later became a House Mother to some of the students/orphans attending the boarding school. Upon leaving the school, she found a job to support herself and never returned.

She loved people and hearing about their life stories and experiences. Being an avid reader, she realized sometime in the early 1970's that her life would greatly be enhanced by completing her education. She obtained her High School Diploma while raising her 3 children...two of which were in high school at the same time she was.

Her passions, hobbies & gifts included painting - she had a great love of color and shades of color that were amazing. An avid reader, she loved mysteries, suspense and autobiographies. She loved to travel and to look at photos others had taken on their travels. She loved sharing her family history and all the many stories that had been handed down-some truthful,some just good story-telling.

She retired in the early 1990's from Meijer's where she had been a telephone operator in their Customer Service Department.

At the time of her death, she is survived by her last remaining child-Guy Kirby (Rozena) Waldron of Collinsville, OK. 4 Grandchildren-Jennifer (Darren) Best of Norton Shores, MI; Kimberly Waldron of Collinsville, OK; Benjamin Waldron of Weatherford, OK; Jillian (Tyler) Casey of Owasso, OK. 7 Great-Grandchildren; 1 brother & 4 sisters and a host of neices, nephews, inlaws & friends.

Following cremation a Memorial Service will be held January 20th, 2012 at the Ottawa Center Chapel, Coopersville, MI by the Rev Robert Porterfield. Add'Vantage Funeral & Cremation Services of Tulsa, OK handled the cremation.
