Wilbert H. Jenkel, 80, 2341 Jourdain La., died Wednesday at a local hospital. He was born May 12, 1900 in Shawano and resided most of his life in the Green Bay area. Mr. Jenkel was employed by Kraft Cheese Co. from 1936 to 1949, and then for the Wisconsin Public Service until his retirement in 1965.
Mr. Jenkel was a charter member of Faith Lutheran Church.
Survivors are on daughter, Mrs. Joan Spaite; one son and daughter-in-law, Webb and Jean Jenkel; one granddaughter, Heather Spaite, on grandson, Forest Spaite, all of Green Bay; two sisters, Mrs. Loretta Ross, Medford; Miss Theodora Jenkel, DePere.
He was preceded in death by his wife, the former Sybil Manthey, in 1968 and also one brother, Alvin Jenkel Sr, and two sisters, Viola Nelson and Hildegard Chada.
Friends may call at Schauer and Schumacher East Side Funeral Home, from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday. Funeral 1 pm Sunday at Faith Lutheran Church, with the Rev. J. Robert Koch officiating. Burial in Woodlawn Cemetery. A memorial fund has been established for Faith Lutheran Church.
