Aged Blackfoot Resident Dies
Blackfoot, May 3--Brigham Farnsworth, 81, died Tuesday at 8 p.m. at his home in Blackfoot of causes incident to age. He was born July 4, 1869 at Mount Pleasant, Utah, the son of George and Mary Allen Farnworth. He married Ann Elizabeth Reynolds, who died June 7, 1912. Surviving are two sons, Theodore Farnsworth, Richland, Washington and Burt Farnsworth, Pocatello; a daughter, Mrs. Era F. Garlick, American Fork, Utah.
Mr. Farnsworth married Mary Lockland Stanger, June 16, 1923 at St. Anthony. They moved to Blackfoot in 1944 to engage in farming and sheep raising in the Groveland area. Mr. Farnsworth was a high priest in the LDS church.
Besides the widow, and the two sons and a daughter are seven step sons and daughters: Mrs. Laura Gardner, Idaho Falls; Charles Farnworth, Griffith, Indiana, James A. Stanger, Logan, Utah; Mrs. Violet Hollister, Seattle; Fred Stanger, Richland, Washington; George Stanger, El Monte, California; Thomas Farnworth, Idaho Falls; three brothers, J. W. Farnworth, Carey; Herbert Farnworth, Mount Pleasant, Utah; and Alfred Farnworth, Jerome; 36 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Saturday at 1 p.m. in the Second LDS ward church in Blackfoot with Bishop Clifford Robertson in charge. Burial will be in the Fielding Memorial Park in Idaho Falls under the direction of the Haward Packham mortuary.
