Preston, KS Arnold Benjamin ‘Ben' Jorns, age 84, died Saturday, December 31, 2011 at Good Samaritan Society in Oberlin, Kansas. He was born February 5, 1927 in Preston, Kansas the son of Barney and Doris (Burkner) Jorns. On May 24, 1959 he married Marie Baresel at Junction City, Kansas. She preceded him in death on May 5, 2000. He graduated from Preston High School in 1944 and served in the US Navy during WWII. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Natrona, KS, Church Youth Group Leader for many years, sang in the church choir and the men's quartet, and member of the Lutheran Laymans League. He was a on the Finance Board of the church for many years, Past President of the Kansas District Walther League, Board Member of the Wheatridge Association, Leader of the Preston 4-H Club, and was a farmer and in the poultry business for over 50 years.

He is survived by a daughter Pam May of Oberlin, Ks; two sons Philip K. Jorns of Norman, Ok, and Tim Jorns of Overland Park, Ks; and 9 Grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son Kim Michael Jorns on January 2, 2006, and two brothers Paul and B.W. ‘Junior' Jorns.

Visitation will be 9:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m., Tuesday January 3, 2012, at Larrison Mortuary, 300 Country Club Rd., Pratt, where family will receive friends from 7:00-8:00 p.m.. Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, January 4, 2011 at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Natrona, Ks with Reverend Michael P. Schotte presiding. Burial will be in the St Paul Lutheran Cemetery, Natrona, Ks.

Memorials may be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church or Children's Christian Concern Society both in care of the mortuary. Condolences may be left for the family at www.larrisonmortuary.com.
