Hyle Bassinger is Dead from Injuries


War Department Reports Former Arlington Youth, 27, a Casualty; Enlisted About a Year Ago: Parents Now Residing In Fremont


Hyle E. Bassinger, 27, died January 19 of injuries received in action in North Africa; it has been learned at Arlington, where the youth formerly lived.


Bassinger’s death was the third to be reported thus far among former countians. To date, so far as is known, no actual county residents have died in the war.



Son of Mr. and Mrs. H. M. Bassinger, now of Fremont, he enlisted about a year ago.



Surviving besides his parents are two sisters, Mrs. Lloyd Wilch of Omaha and Mrs. Donald Tipton of Abilene, Texas, and a brother Master Sergeant Paul Bassinger now with the air corps.
