Mrs. Joan Yount Hoffman 62, of Charlotte died Wednesday, May 22, 1996, at her residence.
Funeral is 2 p.m. today at A Mighty Fortress Lutheran Church with the Reverend Chris L. Christopher officiating. Interment will be in Forest Lawn West Cemetery. The daughter of the late Ernest P. Yount and Sallie S. Yount, Mrs. Hoffman was born March 24, 1934, in Lincolnton. She was a graduate of West Mecklenburg High School and had attended Lenoir Rhyne College. Mrs. Hoffman was a member of A Mighty Fortress Lutheran Church and recently retired from the U.S. Bankruptcy Court as a courtroom clerk.
Survivors include her husband, R. Jerry Hoffman; son, Eric Hoffman and his wife, Dawne F. Hoffman, daughter, Zoe Hoffman, granddaughter, Kristy Hoffman, grandson, Robbie Hoffman, sister, Carolyn Whisenant and her husband, A.D. Whisenant, all of Charlotte; nephews, Dale Whisenant and Barry Whisenant; and stepmother, Mrs. Frances R. Yount.
