Joseph James Coe, 68, of Galesburg Route 1, died Friday at 12:45 p.m. at Cottage hospital. He was born June 6th, 1899 in Galesburg, and lived here until moving to Henderson Grove several years ago. He was a roundhouse foreman for the Burlington Northern Railroad, retiring in 1954 after 39 years of service.
He married Madeline Philblad on July 31st, 1918. Surviving him are his wife, three sons, Max P. (and Betty)Coe, Robert J. (and June)Coe, and Donald (and Kathlyn)Coe, one sister, Mrs. Doris Ferris of Chicago, 9 grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren.
Funeral will be Monday at 2 p.m. at Kimber & West chapel, visitation sunday afternoon.
