JONESVILLE, Va. — Valdean R. Browning, 81, of Route 1, Box 204, Jonesville, Va., passed away Tuesday (Jan. 22, 2008) at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center after a brief illness.
A resident of Lee County, Va. for 60 years, she was a homemaker and a member of the First United Methodist Church of Jonesville, Va.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lois and Martin Reed.
Surviving are her husband, Denver R. (Buck) Browning of Jonesville, Va.; daughter, Judy B. Turner (Walter) of Lexington, Ky.; grandchildren, Laura L. Turner (Stephen) of Nashville, Tenn., Denver B. Turner (Marissa) of Knoxville, Tenn., S. Clay Turner of Knoxville, Tenn., Walter W. Turner, Jr. (Missy) of Louisville, Ky.; one great-grandson, Alex Turner; brother, V.Z. Reed (Doris) of Little Rock, Ark.; sister, Vyvette Solt (Keith) of Knoxville, Tenn.; a very devoted companion and friend, Virgie Willis of Jonesville, Va.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the First United Methodist Church in Jonesville, Va.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday at the church with the Rev. Layne Pennington officiating.
Burial will follow in Lee Memorial Gardens in Woodway, Va.
Pallbearers will be nephews Eric Solt, Denham York, Denver Ray Browning, II, Richard Browning, Jr., Edward G. Browning, Jr. and Danny York.
