Margaret H. Johnson
Mrs. Lester W. Johnson, 81, Morris, died Monday April 11, 1994, at her home.
She was born Aug.29, 1912, in Streator, a daughter of David F. and Winnifred (Fraser) Holmes.
Educated in Streator Schools, she graduated from Gregg Business College in Chicago with the class of 1931.
On November 26, 1953, she married Lester W. Johnson in Streator.
She was employed as a secretary in a law firm in Chicago, and later in the buying offices of Sears in Chicago. After her marriage in 1953, she moved to Morris and was employed for School District# 54 Grade Schools and later for the Grundy County Farm Bureau and the County Farm Adviser.
A member of the First United Presbyterian Church in Morris, she was a former member of the Morris Woman's Club.
Surviving are her husband; two daughters, Margaret A. (Peggy) Goslin, Shaker Heights, Ohio and Mrs. Donald (Janet L.) Matteson, of Morris; three grandchildren, Mark (Roseanne) Matteson, Mrs. Ted (Sara) Haynes, and Janee Matteson; three great-grandchildren, Nicholas Matteson, David and Heather Haynes; four sisters, Winnifred Seibel of Streator, Roberta Benedict of Glen Ellyn, Norma Worsley of Mendota; and Davie Jean Smith of Geneva; and many nieces and nephews.
Preceeding her in death were her first husband Alfred R. Goslin in 1940.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, at the U.C. Davis and Sons Funeral Home Ltd., with the Rev. Mark England-Krieger officiating. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery, Streator.
