Services for Winnie Hazel Gentry, 96, of Lubbock will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Central Baptist Church with the Rev. Dean Harris officiating.

Burial will be in the Masonic section of the City of Lubbock Cemetery under the direction of Resthaven Funeral Home.

She died on Wednesday, Feb. 28, 2001.

She was born on July 8, 1904, in Terrell. She has been a resident of Lubbock for more than 90 years. She received a bachelor's degree from West Texas State Teachers College and a master's degree from Texas Tech. She taught in the Frenship Independent School District for 45 years. She was a member of Central Baptist Church for more than 36 years.

Survivors include a sister, Minnie McCray of Lubbock; three brothers, Earnest E. Altman of San Diego, Calif., Floyd Altman of Lubbock and Robert L. Altman of Anderson, S.C.
