Charlottesville- Va- Funeral service will be held here Wednesday for Mrs. Bessie Green Hearn Alderman 78, who’s late husband was a former president of the University of North Carolina and University Of Virginia. She died Saturday in New York. Her husband Dr. Edwin Anderson Alderman who died in 1931 served as UNC president from 1896-1900 and became president of the University of Virginia in 1904, a post he held nearly 30 years. After Dr. Aldermans death she remained in Charlottesville for several years. Since then she had spent most of her time in a New York apartment. Surviving are a son Edwin A Alderman Jr., and a granddaughter Mrs. Ernest Davis Jr. of Richmond Va
