Deceased Name: Lindsay - 87, of Monticello died 7:20 p.m. Thursday (March 15, 2001) in her home.
Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday in Monticello United Methodist Church with the Rev. Jerry Reed officiating. Visitation will be one hour before services. Burial will be in Keller Cemetery, Lovington. Mackey-Wright Funeral Home, Monticello, is in charge of arrangements. Memorials: Senior Citizens Nutrition Program & Center (Steppe-Inn).
Mrs. Lindsay was born July 13, 1913, in Lake City, the daughter of V.I. and Mary Bandy Winings. She was a member of Monticello United Methodist Church, Illinois Education Association and National Education Association. Mrs. Lindsay graduated from Lovington High School; attended the University of Illinois and graduated from Millikin University in 1958. She taught in Decatur and Mount Zion public schools. She was also a Sunday school teacher in the Monticello United Methodist Church, volunteered at Peace Meals, where she earned volunteer of the year and volunteered at the Kirby Hospital Auxiliary. She married Don W. Lindsay Dec. 3, 1933, in Covington, Ind. He preceded her in death Nov. 13, 1955.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers, Sherman Winings, Ivan Winings and Irvin Winings, and sister, Dorothy Tankersley.
