Services for Garland "Judge" Boozer, 88, of Lubbock will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Shallowater First Baptist Church with the Rev. Mitch Wilson officiating.

Burial with Masonic rites will be in City of Lubbock Cemetery under the direction of Franklin-Bartley Funeral Home.

He died Monday, Jan. 24, 2000, at Covenant Medical Center.

He was born May 21, 1911, in Marengo County, Ala. He had been a Shallowater resident since 1932. He married Anna Lee Evans on Oct. 25, 1936. She died March 2, 1967. He was a farmer until retirement in 1994. He served on the Frenship Independent School District board from 1963 to 1969. He was a Life Member and Past Master of the Shallowater Masonic Lodge. He was a charter member of the Frenship Masonic Lodge and past District Deputy Grandmaster of the Grand Lodge of Texas. He was a member of the York Rite, the Scottish Rite and the Eastern Star. He was also a member and past Sunday School teacher of Hurlwood Baptist Church.

Survivors include a son, Garland Jr. of Shallowater; a daughter, Jan Spence of Lubbock; and four grandchildren.
