Abigal Ann daughter of John M and America Anderson was born May 14 1850 and departed this life July 8 1937 her parents being one of the pioneer families of Spencer county.

She was united in marriage to Marion P Harter and to this union five sons were born, the second son John dying in infancy, Dr Harry,Lwrence, Will and Frank survive.

In March 1900 she united with the New Hope Baptist Church and lived a consistant Christian faith.

She was a devoted mother never failing in her duty to her children, whom she reared alone. The father being called to his eternal rest when Dr Harry was ten years old.

The sons have lost a companion as well as a mother, the church a faithful member, the community a kind and benevolent neighbor.
Her kind deeds stand a living monument to her memory, many friendless people had in her a faithful friend in need.

Besides her sons she leaves to mourn three grandson, four great grandchildren, three nieces, Mrs Ella Scott Lindsey and Mrs Cad Scott Miller of St Louis, MO, and Mrs Daisy Boonshot of Petersburg, three nephews Oatley Anderson of Chickerha Okla, John W Scott of St Louis MO and John D Parwin of Lodi Calif., and many friends and neighbors who will miss her kindly smile.

Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon in the New Hope Baptist Church conducted by the Rev Barthel Rogers, burial was held in New Hope Cemetery.
