Mr. Charles Hugh Woodham of Dothan, a resident at Extendicare, died Friday, Jan. 11, 2008. He was 75.

Funeral services are at 10 a.m. today, Jan. 14, 2008, at Bethel Baptist Church with the Rev. Wallace Russell and Rickey Plummer officiating. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory Cemetery under the direction of Ward Wilson Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Wiregrass Hospice, P.O. Drawer 2127, Dothan, AL 36302; Alacare Hospice, 3763 Ross Clark Circle, Suite 1, Dothan, AL 36303; Alzheimer's Resource Center, 1314 Westgate Parkway, Suite 2, Dothan, AL 36302; or to Bethel Baptist Church Building Fund, 3257 E. Cottonwood Road, Dothan, AL 36301.

Mr. Woodham was born Aug. 31, 1932, in Houston County, the son of the late N.J. (Jake) Woodham and C-Bell Clark Woodham. He was a lifelong resident of Dothan and worked with his brother Archie at Woodham's IGA. He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church, the Andrew Sunday School Class, the VA and Woodsmen of the World.

He is preceded in death by his brother, Archie D. Woodham.

Survivors include his wife, Martha Woodham of Dothan; sons, Skipper (Una) Woodham of Dothan; Perry Woodham of Slocomb; a sister, Peggy Buntin of Dothan; grandchildren, Sgt. John Woodham, USMC, Iraq, and his wife, Melanie, Airman USAF-VA; Cpl. T.J. Woodham, USMC North Carolina; Charles A. Woodham, Slocomb; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Active pallbearers will be T.J. Woodham, Charles A. Woodham, Randy Woodham, Kevin King, Owen Watkins and Fletcher Moore. Honorary pallbearers will be the Andrew Sunday School Class, to include Charles Hall, Brian Woodham, and Bobby Deese.

The family would like to express special thanks to the Alacare Hospice, Wiregrass Hospice, and Extendicare, to which their guidance, care, love and support was an absolute godsend to the family.
