His parents started calling him by his middle name "Bernard"
at an early age, as not to cause confusion with his Grandfather Thomas Joseph Norris.
As a young adult Bernard moved several times, 1st to California where he worked for Standard Oil, then to North Dakota where he farmed among other jobs wrapped around a tour of duty, during the Korean War with the US Army.
Bernard married Catherine L Kreitinger on June 19th,1956 in Golva, North Dakota. He moved his family to Montana and eventually to Seattle, Washington, taking a job with the Boeing Company, where he helped build the first 747 in 1968. He retired from Boeing in November 1994.
He died at Evergreen Hospital of heart failure, following a bout with pneumonia. He is survived by his wife Catherine of 55 years, 4 daughters, 2 sons and several Grand and Great Grand Kids.
