Born August 29, 1943, in Paris, Texas, went home to be with the Lord December 27, 2011. He was a beloved father, grandfather, brother, and a wonderful friend to all. Survivors include sons, Richard Poteet and wife, Melanie; and Wayne Poteet and wife, Juanita; grandchildren Christopher Poteet, Brandi Horinek, Steven Poteet and Mariah Crist; 5 great-grandchildren, brothers Ronny Poteet, John Poteet and Dale Poteet, sisters Maggie Moore and husband, Johnny, Peggy Calk, Debbie Scott, and Vanessa Kirby; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. Buddy was preceded in death by his wife, Pat, daughters Karon Poteet and Atina Poteet, parents James and Bonnie Poteet, and his brother Donny Poteet. Interment will be held at 10:00a.m. on Friday, December 30, 2011 at Laurel Oaks Memorial Park in Mesquite. Family will recieve friends from 6-8:pm on Thursday, December 29, 2011 at Anderson Clayton in Mesquite.
