He was the 2nd of 10 children to Jacob and Elizabeth (Chamberlin) Sheetz.

He married Lovenia Eleanor Thornburg in Decator, Macon County, Illinois on May 20, 1859. The family would remain in Illinois until around 1870 when they would move to Kansas where Addison would die in 1875.

It was presented to me by my grandmother Mary Agnes Sheets that her grandfather Addison died of Pneumonia and that the location of where he was buried was unknown.

The photograph was believed taken around 1860 and the child is believed to be that of Silas his oldest child.
