LESLIE SHELHAMER DIES IN GLENWOOD HOSPITAL SATURDAY

Pneumonia Claims Prominent Citizen of Basalt and Aspen Communities.

Leslie F. (Lee) Shelhamer, widely known resident of Basalt and former resident of Aspen, died at the Porter Hospital in Glenwood Springs, Saturday morning at about 11 o'clock. Death was due to pneumonia. He was 65 years old.

Mr. Shelhamer was born in Concordia, Kansas on January 27, 1872 and lived in Colorado the greatest portion of his life. He moved his family to this city from Grand Junction in 1925 and resided here for ten years during which time he was employed in the mines until ill health forced him to retire. In the fall of 1935 he moved to Basalt where he resided until his death.

Mr. Shelhamer was well liked by all who knew him and was a good husband and kind father to his family.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Jessie Shelhamer, three daughters, Ruth, Mildred, and Mrs. N. A. Dossigny of Emma, and three sons, Lee Roy, Ellis and Howard, his aged mother, Mrs. Martha Shelhamer, and two sisters and three brothers.

Funeral services were conducted Tuesday afternoon at his home in Basalt with Rev. H. S. David officiating. Burial was made in Red Butte.
